Are You Increasing Your Motivation With A Bucket List?

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

A bucket list is a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket (before you die).

It’s also the name of a movie that’s coming out. It includes top actors Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.

I’ve heard really good things about the movie. But let me ask you, do you have a bucket list?

Of course, in Napoleon Hill’s book Think And Grow Rich the first step to riches is desire. You can increase desire by knowing exactly what you want. And that’s where a bucket list kicks in. It lets you cut through the fluff by asking a dead-serious question. What do you want to accomplish before you die?

But don’t let the weight of that question drag you down because the best bucket lists are filled with fun, loving and
exciting things.

So what will be on your bucket list? 2 nights in Trump Towers? African Safari? Romantic night in Venice Italy with your soul mate?

What will give you that extra spark? When you think of it. Add it to your list!

Ok. my rich friend, I have to add a few things to my bucket list. I’ll talk to you later.

Win your RACE to success with this mini-poster

My rich friend, while pulling together these posters, I remembered so many times when I used the Power of Desperation.

I used it with my first big joint venture. I had more orders than I could imagine. Because I was doing everything myself, I was drowning in boxes and CDs. Then my computer broke down(it’s tough to get to the internet without a computer YIKES! ). It was crazy but the power of desperation pulled me through it.

I also got into a weight loss competition with a guy 15 years younger than me. My ego became a vicious bulldog that refused to let me eat and forced me to workout like a madman. It was INSANE. I’ll tell you about that later

What about you? Have you ever used the power of desperation? Let me know I’d love to hear about it.

If you have any feedback on the mini-posters I’d love to hear that also. Just leave a reply for me below:

Are You Using Napoleon Hill’s First Step To Riches?

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Here is a quick summary of Napoleon Hill’s first step to riches.

Desire is the cornerstone of success.

It is the starting point of all achievement, be it personal, professional, political,
financial, or anything imaginable.

If desire is lacking, then regardless of what other steps might be taken on the
path to riches, the results will also be lacking.

It only takes a minor amount of weak desire to infect, pollute, and undermine achievement.

Remember: a small amount of fire leads to a small amount of heat . Yet , on the
other hand: a blazing inferno is virtually unstoppable.

Your first step is clear and straightforward: work yourself into a white heat of desire!

“Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made
from something they have deep inside them - a DESIRE, a
dream, a vision.”
- Muhammad Ali

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being a burning desire and 1 being no desire at all) what is your level of desire?

5 Steps To Conquering Limitations (Napoleon Hill’s Process)

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

In Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill talks about how to conquer limitations and handle heartbreaking news.

The most powerful example he gave was his own personal struggle to help his son hear (which was no small effort since his son was born without ears).

You’ve probably read the story so I won’t go into it but lets uncover Napoleon Hill’s process because it reveals how you can handle your life’s greatest challenges.

First, a doctor said his son was born with no ears and he’d be a deaf mute all his life.

Immediately after hearing that news, here’s what Napoleon Hill thought:

“I challenged the doctor’s opinion. … I, too, reached a DECISION, and rendered an opinion, but I expressed the opinion silently, in the secrecy of my own heart.”

Let me ask you. How do you respond to heartbreaking news? Do you give up your life to the ‘experts’? Or do you make your own DECISION (7th Step Towards Riches)?

In truth, it’s never easy deal with heartbreaking news but time and time again the impact of that news depends on your mindset and your ability to trust yourself.

Napoleon Hill is not alone in his approach.

Dr. Bernie Siegel in his book Love, Medicine and Miracles talks about cancer patients whose grapefruit sized tumors “melted away like snowballs on a hot stove”. Much of it having to do with the patients DECISION on how to respond to the expert doctors.

They refused to accept limitations being thrown at them. How do you respond to limitations being thrown at you?

Consider the below words from Napoleon Hill

“Nature could send me a child without ears, but Nature could not induce
me to accept the REALITY of the affliction. ” Napoleon Hill

So don’t let REALITY get in the way of what you truly desire.

How badly do you want to succeed?

Do you want it badly enough to ignore the reality of any obstacles you face?

How can you ignore reality? Well, Napoleon Hill revealed that too.

But this time he draws from the genius of Emerson.

Emerson Said:
“The whole course of things goes to teach us faith. We need only obey. There is guidance for each of us, and by lowly listening, we shall hear the right word.”

FOCUS on the first line of that quote because it tells you how to free yourself from the bondage of ‘reality’.

The answer is faith.

Let me summarize.

1. Know what you DESIRE
2. DECIDE to reject obstacles and the reality of the moment
3. Take it as a lesson in FAITH

Here are a couple more Napoleon Hill quotes that reveal the steps to use:
4. “Every day I renewed the pledge I had made to myself” ( never stop trying)
5. “What could I do about it? Somehow I would find a way”

NOTE: In this article we’ve talked about how to handle the toughest news and limitations. Fortunately, you can use the same the process for handling any limitations… including self-imposed limitations.

I used to think writing was too hard and that I wasn’t good enough to do it. But as you can tell from this blog that self-imposed limitation is melting away(I still wrestle with it sometimes).

I challenge you to identify and conquer any limitations. Use the 5 steps. And if you ever meet with unfortunate news remember all the options you have and trust in your own power.

DECIDE that your life it too important to waste on small things.

Well, my rich friend, that’s it for this post.

Why ‘Action’ is Not One Of Napoleon Hill’s Steps To Riches?

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Think And Grow Rich identifies 13 steps to riches and action is NOT one of them. Why?
Many people think that action is the key to success.

Can it be that ‘action’ is not necessary to achieving success?

I’ve thought about it quite and bit and I believe I have the answer. You can see it by clicking here to see the article on my ThinkRichToday.com website.

Feel free to leave your thoughts about why action is not one of the Steps To Riches? Or read the article and let me know what you think.
